Uppsala Clinical Research Center (UCR) and Uppsala Trial Forge Centre (U-TFC) are initiating a new collaboration to strengthen support for patient and public involvement in clinical research.

Through the collaboration, researchers working with UCR will gain access to specialised support in patient and public involvement, an area of growing importance for the quality, relevance and impact of clinical studies.

UCR provides support throughout the clinical research process, from planning and study design to implementation, data management, analysis and reporting. U-TFC contributes dedicated expertise in designing, implementing and strengthening patient and public involvement in research. The support may include consultations, workshops, courses and tailored collaborations based on the needs of each research project.

– We see this as a highly valuable collaboration. UCR’s broad expertise in the planning and conduct of clinical studies, together with U-TFC’s knowledge and experience in patient and public involvement, enables us to support researchers in an even better way, says Maria Sörby, Head of Clinical Studies at UCR.

U-TFC is a competence centre within the CIRCLE research group at Uppsala University, focusing on patient and public involvement as well as diversity in clinical research.
