There is a large gap between basic scientific research and translation to novel therapeutics, and to bridge this gap, translational research and knowledge need to be strengthened. In this seminar, we aim to bring preclinical and clinical expertise together by highlighting and discussing some of the hurdles to overcome in order to progress from preclinical to clinical studies and make novel drugs available to the patients.
